Via the Nouvelles d’Armenie website we read that Sahag Karalekian, president of AGBU Marseille, hosted an event to honor the recent appointment of Didier Parakian as counsel for economic development to the Mayor of Marseille, France’s second largest city.

Karalekian is quoted as saying (paraphrased):

“We are proud and pleased that Didier Parakian, this child of the AGBU, today elected as assistant to Jean-Claude Gaudin, the Mayor of Marseilles. As you know, the Parakian family has always been involved in our activities and tonight, this reception in honor of Didier Parakian, is a just reward for someone who is one of the brightest members of our youth and one who remains connected to AGBU.”

Parakian spoke at the event and expressed this pride in being “a child of AGBU.”
