We’ve made some more historic photos live on on the AGBU Flickr feed.
This image from the YPGNY Mary Ellen Gerard archive has the following words written on the back of the image: “Aleppo, Syria winter of 1922. During this washing. This is their home – the open streets – rain or shine.”

I recently learned that my grandparents were in a refegee camp in Syria. I appeciate all the photos and such that are being subitted so that all of us in the second and third generations and beyond can appreciate what our ancestors went through. In our comfortable and lavish lifestyles, who can imagine what they went through? Bless their hearts!
