The AGBU Antranig Dance Ensemble has announced a performance on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Columbia University in Manhattan.
According to their press release:
That full two-hour show will be held at Columbia University’s Roone Arledge Auditorium, and will be hosted by the University’s Armenian students club. It will mark the group’s first full stage presentation for its hometown New York audience in two years and promises to be everything an Antranig performance has been known for.
From hand-made dazzling costumes created by Armenian artisans to music prepared by some of Armenia’s highest regarded writers and directors, the show is eye and ear candy from beginning to end.
Currently comprised of over 30 young men and women, Antranig performs full-length dance productions throughout the United States and Canada, and has played on some of the premier stages of the world, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York, Claude Champagne Hall in Montreal and the State Opera Theater in Armenia.
