Diaspora Minister Participates in AGBU Marseille Centennial

MARSEILLE, NOYAN TAPAN: Michel Legrand, Ellen Segara, Patrick Fiori, Andre Manoukian and others performed in the gala concert dedicated to the centennial of the founding of the Marseille Chapter of AGBU, which took place on June 26, 2010. The Sahag-Mesrob Choir, conducted by Khachik Yilmazian, opened the concert.

Present at the concert was Armenia’s Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobian, who awarded the ministry’s Nubar Pasha Medal to AGBU Marseille chapter chairman Sahag Karalekian.

On June 27, Hakobian had meetings with the members of the Marseille branch of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations in France (CCAF), Marseille’s deputy mayor Didier Parakian, as well as [Jean] Garbis Artin, director of the Aram Research and Archives Center (Research Association of the Armenian Memory) in Marseille. She also participated in the Divine Liturgy celebrated in the Sts. Sahag-Mesrob Church, dedicated to the memory of Boghos Nubar. She placed wreaths at the statue of Missak Manouchian and the monument dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide located in the Beaumont section of Marseille.

During her visit, Hakobian was accompanied by Vigen Tchitechian, Armenia’s ambassador to France.
