On Wednesday, September 22, 2010, AGBU Lebanon, in association with the Gomidas chapter of Hamazkayin, Promorient, and UMAM D&R, hosted a screening of a documentary by Karim Hakim, titled “Zokak El-Blat: Memories from a Beiruti Neighborhood” at the Hamazkayine center in the Zokak El-blat neighborhood of Beirut, Lebanon.

The screening was accompanied by a presentation by professor Jean Salmanian, who spoke about the Lebanese-Armenian community’s role in the cultural and economic life of Zokak El-Blat.

Also on view during the Wednesday night event were dozens of photographs, dating from 1900-75, that offered visual insight into the story of the Beirut neighborhood.
