It’s been an exciting week for the 2012 NYSIP interns who were treated to three major events, two of which were highly informative professional lectures by former NYSIP participants. On June 21, Serge Kassardjian (NYSIP 2000), strategic partner in mobile commerce at Google, conducted a career development lecture at the AGBU Central Office, which included strategies and advice on finding the right job and career advancement.
The interns then attended a professional lecture by Patrick Sarkissian (NYSIP 1995), founder and CEO of SarkissianMason on June 25. The event, which was held at the offices of Sarkissian Mason, encouraged the interns to think differently and featured an interactive segment whereby they approached the idea of what it means to be Armenian and the challenges facing both the Armenian nation and the Diaspora. Mr. Sarkissian hosted a reception at his home for the interns afterward.
This past Saturday, the interns participated in the annual “I ❤ NYSIP Scavenger Hunt”. Seven groups raced around Manhattan to try and complete as many objectives as possible in three hours, which included petting the iconic lion at the New York Public Library and tracking down a slice of artichoke pizza. Congratulations to Anush Ayrabetyan, Alex Kazanjian, Lorig Stepanian, and Alyssa Stevenson who emerged victorious and claimed the grand prize of major league baseball tickets.
