The young patients within the Yerevan Muratsan University Hospital receive many visitors, but few bring as much energy and cheer as their most recent guests: the AGBU Yerevan Scouts, who arrived at the hospital earlier this month wearing costumes, playing music and holding balloons.
In celebration of International Children’s Day, on June 1, 2012, the Scouts, dressed as popular cartoon characters and animals, made the rounds through all of the hospital’s departments. They sat at the bedsides of the youth, playing games and delivering special gifts before gathering in the hospital’s main hall, where they taught the children new songs, poems and dances.
Smiles and laughter were contagious throughout the visit, as the Scouts transformed the hospital into a playroom. Next year, the Scouts commented, they hope the children can celebrate the holiday at home with their families, happy and healthy.
